Relationships

Psychotherapy can help with relationship problems. All relationships have ups and downs, sometimes people need some extra help for example, if they are finding it difficult to communicate with each other or they are just stuck and not sure how to resolve an issue. Talking about feelings isn’t easy for everyone, and this is understandable, so we can work together to find ways of expressing your feelings if this is something you struggle with. The aim is to get your thoughts and feelings out about the current situation, and see if there are ways of resolving the issue in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Weight Loss

My job as a hypnotherapist is to help you develop a positive relationship with food and a healthy lifestyle by directly targeting the unconscious mind with powerful suggestions. The aim of hypnotherapy for weight loss is to make you feel confident about making the changes you want to make, change any negative thoughts about eating and help you lose weight in a natural healthy way.

Bereavement

Many of us have had to go through the experience of grief and loss, whether it be the loss of a job, or the loss of loved ones. The death of someone or something very important to you can lead to you finding it extremely difficult to deal with all the changes and feelings that surround you at that time. There is no time limit and there is no right or wrong way to feel during this bereavement period, we all learn to cope in our own way. Psychotherapy can try and help individuals to find a way of coping with the loss so you can carry on with life and eventually strive to find acceptance.

Relaxation

The hypnotic state that you will be under before any suggestions are given will be relaxing. Whilst you’re in this deeply relaxed state the mind is taken on a journey of calmness and tranquillity, and I will guide you through it in a peaceful way. The relaxation from hypnotherapy is comfortable, safe and considered to be very beneficial for both the mind and body.

Anger Management

Feeling angry is a natural response to certain life experiences and it can be a good thing as it helps to get rid of any built-up energy and tension. However, when we let anger get the better of us, and when it starts to become uncontrollable. anger can turn destructive and this in turn can start to affect many parts of our life, e.g. relationships, career, and health. Psychotherapy can help individuals confront what is causing the anger, how you previously dealt with anger before it became an issue, and our goal would be to fully equip you with the tools to learn how to control your anger.

Smoking Cessation

Many people know how challenging quitting smoking can be, and hypnotherapy can help with the thing that many people find the hardest to do, and that’s changing the way you think about smoking. Hypnotherapy helps to get rid of the negative behaviours and thought patterns associated with smoking. Hypnosis for smoking can be extremely effective, but this heavily depends on whether the individual really wants to quit, if you are not ready, chances are it won’t work. During hypnotherapy we use suggestions to associate a negative feeling with smoking, rather than the one’s you currently have.

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a talking therapy that comes from a variety of theories and approaches used. Some of these consist of approaches such as Freudian, Cognitive Behavioural, Transactional analysis, and Person-centered. Psychotherapy holds an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client which is why it is important to choose the therapist you feel is right for you.

I use the approach that I feel will work for you on an individual basis, and therefore your feedback on the approach will be important as to whether it is the right one for you or whether we need to try a different approach.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a state of mind that is brought about by a certain set of techniques. During hypnosis our concentration is enhanced, and this results in an increased response to suggestions. Due to you being in a relaxed state, we are able to access the subconscious mind during hypnotherapy, and we are able to give suggestions based on what you are coming to hypnotherapy for.

These suggestions will help to make beneficial changes, whether it be to your thought patterns, behaviours or physiological state. Hypnotherapy cannot make you do anything you do not want to, and you cannot get stuck in hypnosis. You are free to leave the hypnotic state whenever you want to.

How much does it cost?

Initial consultation (30-40 minutes) from £25

Subsequent sessions (50 minutes) from £35

Smoking cessation (2 sessions at 60 minutes each) – £90
Subsequent smoking sessions from £35
The above prices are for payments made by cash or bank transfer only.

Reduced rates are offered for the following individuals who are:-
• Present and ex members of the armed forces
• Emergency service workers (police, fire, ambulance)
• Currently receiving benefits (please discuss this with me before the initial consultation.
Proof will be required of the above and of any qualifying benefits

Cancellation  Policy – In order to keep a professional and fair service to all my clients, it will be necessary to charge 50% of the standard fee for all appointments missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, except in the case of exceptional circumstances.
